Women love a man who can stand out in a crowd, not only with a winning smile or muscular arms, but with the scent they emanate. We all love a hard-working man but not a smelly one. Cologne has been fashioned from thousands of spices and plants to form the most aromatic attraction possible. And in response, women have something to say about which ones are most appealing with their fragrance. Five of the most expensive and popular brands have been reviewed and the women have spoken.
AcQua Di Gio has one of the scents that men can wear at any point in the year to any event or on a daily basis. However, women can’t speak too highly of it as they claim it “doesn’t smell fresh or sexy.” Women buying this product for their significant others also had a low satisfaction level with the longevity of the scent. For the average price of $90 for a 3.4 oz. bottle, women give it 4.0 out of 5.0 in their rating standards.
Bang by Marc Jacobs for Men
Bang by Marc Jacobs is a favorite among women due its light and fresh scent. However, the drawback is that they tend to use it more for themselves than picturing in on their man. The advertisement campaign featured naked male models that set the tone for women demographics, not men. The longevity does appeal to those who wear it. Only 16 out of 30 reviewers say that is worth the price of $75.00 a bottle.
Dolce & Gabbana By Dolce & Gabbana For Men
The One by Dolce and Gabbana is one of the highest rated colognes for men with a score of 4.8 out of 5.0. Women who have bought it for their significant others say “it draws compliments and smells great”. Having a lighter scent, the fragrance last for longer and comes in a travel size as well, but can only be purchased in the gift package. The original size has an average price tag of $86.00. Despite the higher than most price, this has the highest rating amongst men and women alike due to its masculine, but light scent.

Polo By Ralph Lauren For Men
Polo for Ralph Lauren is one of the oldest made scents that is still being used today. 112 reviewers say that it “is something they would recommend to a friend”. Women don’t have much to say on it, other than supporting the views of the men commentators. In general, this fragrance seems to be a long-standing favorite since its conception in 1978. The only concern any buyer has it the price, which is surprising due to the lower than most amount of $55.00 per bottle.
Lacoste Eau De Toilette Spray for Men
Red by Locaste is the smallest bottle with only 3.3 oz. in each container. This does lower the price as it ranges from $33.00 to $45.00. In general, this product receives fairly good reviews. 37 out of 51 users say it is “great for every day use”. It is a fair new product as it was brought to the industry in 2012. While not as popular as some other brands, the price and even scent have allowed for it to remain in the market with steady sales.
In general, men seem to have more appeal for the classier scents. This can depend on age as those who are older tend to steer towards the scent of anything woodsier or with an outdoor tang. This is expected as they grew up in the generation that promoted manliness in everything a man does and wears. However, our younger generation tends toward the lighter, more feminine scents and this has a high appeal with the women of today as well. As long as these men stay away from over use and the locker room theory that “more is better”, all of these sprays would work in some form or fashion. Usually, it depends on the individual nose
